    Question

My daughter is only 10 years old. She hasn't started her cycle, but yet she has discharge. It is milky white with no odor. Is this normal for a 10 year old, and how can we stop it? It is very annoying to her. She's not used to it. What can I do as a parent to help her.

    Answer

This type of discharge may be normal physiological discharge due to early stages of puberty, especially if she is growing breast buds and having a growth spurt. Please discuss this with her physician to make sure it's not due to other causes. If the physician thinks it's normal, you can reassure her that this is normal and that she can use a light pad if the secretions bother her.
