    Question

My eight-year-old daughter just went to the bathroom and she was bleeding a little. What could this be?

    Answer

As much of a shock as it might be, if she has the other signs of puberty (hair under arms, stinky body odor, etc...) she may have started her period. She may also have had a little blood with a bowel movement or something, so try having her wear a pad and set up an appointment with your doctor to assess whether this is normal or not, for your daughter. Try not to panic. It may be perfectly normal, just early.
