Question
Do you believe in digital editing of models? Are you okay with the fact that the self-esteem of young people is being affected by digital editing of models? What are the side-effects of digital editing? What are some things teens will do in order to be like the models? How does it make people feel? Please answer these questions, it is for a school research project. Thank You!
Answer
I absolutely do not believe in digital editing. It creates an unobtainable goal for young women and contributes to body dissatifaction, eating disorders and relationship issues. We are all affected by what we see in the media and need to be critical consumers. Know that the images are not real and should not be goals.
All teens should talk to parents, try to appreciate their body just like it is and be aware of attempts to sell us things based on our lack of body satisfaction.
Good luck!
