    Question

Hi. I am 14 and I have never had any kind of sexual activity. For like a week straight I have been super itchy in my pubic area and yes I have scratched it. Maybe too hard, I am not sure. Then a couple days went by and it wasn't itchy any more. Then today I noticed I am really red and swollen with little red and white bumps down there. What should I do? I really don't want to bring this up to my mom because I think it would be awkward. Please help. Is there anything I can do without having to go to doctor or pharmacy?

    Answer

That sounds painful. You can take warm baths without bubbles to relieve the itch, but if you have a yeast infection it will not make it go away. Talk to a pharmacist, at CVS or Walgreens, someplace like that and ask for an over-the-counter medicine for a yeast infection. You do not need a prescription for it. If that does not work, then call your doctor and make an appointment yourself.
