    Question

I shaved my vagina without really knowing the right way. I didn't shave all of it, mostly just the top. I really regret it. Now my discharge is boogery, snotty, black and dark brown! I read that improper shaving may cause infection. I don't have my period. Help

    Answer

Please read the section on the teen website about pubic shaving and reconsider ever doing it again! The infection we talk about is usually a skin infection, so your discharge may be the start of your period, or an infection not related to shaving. Sounds like you could use a long talk with your doctor -- make an appointment.
