Question
I am 13 and I just had my second period that lasted for four days, and then it stopped. But then the next day and the day after that I had spotting that was so bad it sometimes leaked through my underwear. Is something wrong?
Answer
It is not unusual for your period to start and stop and be pretty strange for the first year, but you can talk to your doctor if it keeps up. You will need to keep track of when it starts and stops so she can see what is going on. You can print a whole year calendar on one page at http://www.timeanddate.com/ and then circle each day you bleed. Keep track for at least three months then go and chat! Good luck and remember to keep pads with you to avoid accidents, and maybe a baggie with a spare pair of panties.
