Question
I just recently had sex and I want to know how to tell my mother.
Answer
This really depends on the relationship you have with your mom. If you expect that she will help you be safe--start on birth control and make sure you have condoms--then by all means, ask her to join you for a cup of tea when the house is quiet and tell her straight up.
If on the other hand, she may completely freak out, I suggest you ask your doctor if she will be with you when you talk to her, or a counselor or another family member. It is always easiest to just come out with it. Start by saying you care about her and want to share something important with her. Good luck!
