Question
I recently shaved around my penis area. I noticed red dots. I think they could be pimples because I popped one, but now they are starting to spread. Can you get pimples down there? Should I treat it with anything? Also at the end of my penis closer to my balls, there are multiple white dots. Can you help please?
Answer
Not uncommonly when you shave you irritate the skin and cause a localized rash. You can develop small pimples in the area but usually it burns slightly or itches. Often men will uncover small lumps that are the base of the hair follicles in the base of the penis and scrotum.
If there is pain, persistent redness, drainage or discharge or spread over the thighs and abdomen you should seek medical attention.
