Question
I was looking at your site I found an article on BPD. All of what it describes sounded like how my mom acts. I'm also worried because I think she has a drinking problem. She has like five drinks a day. Her boyfriend is also emotionally abusive. I've tried to confront her about it but she just disregards me. Who else can I talk to about this? School counselor? Youth minister? Friend's parents? Who would be the person to talk to?
Answer
All of those people are good choices, and it depends on who you are the most comfortable with. Be aware that teachers and counselors are "mandatory reporters," which means they have to report anything dangerous to Child Protective Services. I am sorry and good luck!
