    Question

I'm 15, my boyfriend is 16, and we're starting to get sexually active. We can't talk to anyone about having sex except eachother. Is 15 a terrible age to lose your virginity? Please help.

    Answer

Glad you asked, and yes I think 15 is too young to start having sex. Several reasons: first your cervix is still "soft" and vunerable to diseases. Second, at 15 there are so many other things you can spend your time doing and sex tends to become overwhelming. Third, the younger people start having sex, even if they start on birth control and always use condoms, the more likely they are to get a sexually transmitted infection and pregnant. So that is truly my opinion, and I have talked to hundreds of teen girls, most of whom wish they had waited. If you ignore me, then please a month BEFORE you start having sex, go to your local Planned Parenthood clinic, and start on a method of birth control (more girls select pills), and find a supply of condoms, then learn how to use them. If you value your health and you truly care about each other, you can do these things together.
