Question
I have an uncircumcised penis. I have dry skin problems, on my hands, feet, and sometimes my arms. Recently I noticed that my penis was kind of dry, and it kind of hurt like chapped skin. Then it started to get worse and now my penis has cracks on it like I got on my hands kind of. It hurts really bad only when I roll the foreskin back to urinate. Since this has happened I haven't been sexual with my girlfriend because of the pain. The pain almost drops me to my knees when I have to roll the skin back to urinate. What could be the reasoning behind this sudden problem with my penis?
Answer
It sounds like you have the same skin condition on your penis as you do on your hands and other parts of the body. This can have many causes, such as allergic contact dermatitis, eczema, psoriasis, lichen planus, or less likely, a reaction to a medication. Sexually transmitted diseases can also develop in that area, but this seems less likely, since you are getting a rash on other parts of your body as well. You really need to have a dermatologist look at it to determine the cause, so that you can go ahead and treat it. Good luck!
