Question
My boyfriend?s mom is Mormon and based on her whole religion she expects us not to have sex, but we do. I am on birth control so we feel there is no need to use condoms and now his mom and cousin are starting to question him if I am pregnant and sexually active. So my question is, can I still get pregnant though I am on the pill, and whether or not we should tell or parents we are having sex and if so how?
Answer
OK, the first question, can you get pregnant on the pill: the answer is not if you take your pill every day, at about the same time each day. Condoms are a good idea as back up and to prevent sexually transmitted disease.
Second question, telling his parents, that is up to him and how comfortable he is lying to them. If he needs to be honest, let him tell them without you. This is a family discussion and it may not be pretty.
