    Question

My teen has not had sex yet. Do I take her to her pediatrician or her OB-GYN to get her on birth control?

    Answer

She can see her regular pediatrician, or pick a family medicine doctor that she will be able to keep as she grows into an adult. It is great that you are willing to help her learn about getting her own medical care. Please help her make the appointment and then stay out in the waiting room. In California, anything re: reproductive health is confidential and she needs to talk with the doctor about what is right for her.
