Question
Is it normal to have an erection during a physical while the doctor is examining your testicles? I went to the doctor and I got an erection while she was examining me. Is that normal?
Answer
It is not uncommon for young men to have a partial erection during a physical exam. Most health care providers will simply ignore this not unexpected response. It is not uncommon for teenagers and young men to worry about erections and avoid health care due to fears about an erection during the exam.
