    Question

So I bought tampons without asking my mom. I just wanted to try it. She found a used one in the bathroom and started yelling because I had to not be a virgin to use one. Is it true? I'm a virgin and she says I lost my virginity because I used a tampon.

    Answer

I am so sorry that you and your mom had such an unpleasant interaction around a topic you needed information about. You did not lose your virginity by using a tampon, especially if it was a tiny one meant for teens. Your hymen, the little bit of tissue will actually stretch and being a virgin is about not having had sexual experiences - which I assume you have not. Rest assured, you are OK.
