Extending access, improving care Extending access, improving care

The heart of our mission at the Palo Alto Medical Foundation is to provide the very best health care to our patients. Everything we do revolves around this goal. To ensure that our organization keeps pace with the evolving needs of our community, we must extend support in the present without losing sight of health care needs that may change in the future. Part of maintaining this dual focus is to engage our donors in defining philanthropic goals. While many gifts are unrestricted, to be applied wherever the need is greatest, others are a more direct expression of issues that matter most to individual donors. One person may choose to dedicate a gift in the name of a family member or friend. A grateful patient might use his or her gift to support continued research in a field that holds great promise for new treatment methods. The reasons for giving are as unique as the people themselves. Whatever the impetus, each gift not only reflects the spirit of the giver, but also has a direct -- and often enduring -- impact upon the lives of others.
