Common Ground
Introduction
Exploring Our Connections
We are all unique individuals, yet we are connected on so many levels, from the relationships that define our lives to the communities we choose to call home. Parents and children are joined from one generation to the next by the enduring bond of family. Friendships are forged through common interests, and reinforced over years of mutual support. Neighbors are connected through a shared concern for the quality of life in their community. We communicate through common languages, and understand through our shared humanity. Our connections give support and direction to our daily lives.
These interconnections also bring greater definition to the work we do at the Palo Alto Medical Foundation. We reach out to our patients and our communities with compassionate, team-based medical care, health education programs, world-class facilities and innovative online services. In turn, our patients and communities help to guide our choices by providing the generous support that makes our work possible. As the world around us changes, these relationships evolve to meet new needs, but their underlying strength remains intact. Resilient and enduring, our connections lead us to common ground.
