The Palo Alto Medical Foundation's (PAMF) Animals in the Workplace Policy acknowledges the rights of individuals with disabilities to use service animals -- any animal trained to do work or perform tasks for a person with physical or emotional disabilities. The policy distinguishes between service animals, including seeing-eye dogs, and non-service animals, and describes which areas and under which circumstances service animals may be allowed in patient care areas.
