Managing Asthma | School & Daycare

Nearly six million children in the United States have asthma. Therefore, many children in schools and in daycare settings have asthma. Parents (and children) may be more nervous about the possibility of asthma flare-ups when they are in these settings, especially since it can be hard to control all the possible triggers away from home.

It's a good idea to talk with your child's teacher or caregiver early to help them know as much as possible about your child's asthma. Most children with asthma can participate fully in all activities, even sports. Careful planning, good communication and correct use of medications can help keep your child's asthma symptoms under control.
