Multidisciplinary Care
Coordinated Consults
At the Palo Alto Medical Foundation (PAMF) Multidisciplinary Clinic, you’ll receive all of your care—from diagnosis to treatment through recovery—from a multidisciplinary team of doctors, nurse practitioners, clinicians and staff. For our newly prostate cancer patients, Multidisciplinary Care gives them the opportunity to learn about all of the treatment options offered at PAMF. In addition, PAMF’s team of psychologists, nutritionists and holistic care specialists are available to help patients be their healthiest—both emotionally and physically—during this challenging time.
A nurse navigator/educator meets with you at the beginning of your cancer care journey to give you an overview of your treatment options. Your multidisciplinary care team will then collaborate to plan the best course of treatment for you at PAMF. Patients can see their providers all at once in the Multi-D Clinic or they can meet with their care team individually over a course of a few days. The Multi-D Clinic makes it easier for patients to meet with their health care team and schedule all of their appointments for the same day. The advantage of seeing their providers one at a time over a short time is that patients have more time to digest information between visits.
