PAMF's Patient-Focused Cancer Care Committee was created in 2006 to ensure that all patients receive high-quality care as part of a compassionate team. This high-quality care includes:

• Excellent multidisciplinary care
  
• Listening, awareness and compassion
  
• Mutual respect and trust
  
• Advocacy
  
• Shared decision-making on medical and financial matters
  
• Family- and patient-centered support systems

The committee is comprised of cancer patients, PAMF executive leadership and staff who work together to create a partnership between the patient and his or her caregivers and health care team to navigate care during their journey with cancer and beyond.

As part of this patient-focused cancer care, the committee ensures that patients have the correct information at the correct time, efficient care processes and resources for most aspects of care and beyond. The committee has created a visionary Cancer Survivorship Program that supports survivors while they transition back into a normal life. Patients and families know they can get their concerns addressed and that long-term stability and support is available to them. At PAMF, the patients are empowered to be an equal part of their care team.
