Tumor Board
A tumor board is a multispecialty group of health care providers who meet to review and discuss diagnostic information and medical treatment options for patients with cancer. This generally includes medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, gynecological oncologist, surgeons, the patient’s primary care provider or specialist, oncology nurses, nurse navigator, dietitian, and medical social worker, .
The goal for a tumor board is to provide multidisciplinary care for patients, with an emphasis on new developments in treatment and participation in clinical trials. Tumor boards also provide a forum to educate physicians, fellows, residents, nurses and other healthcare providers and to share relevant research findings.
The PAMF tumor boards give our cancer patients access to high-level, collaborative cancer care that is integrated and coordinated with the primary care you receive from us.
