Girish Narayan, M.D.

Dr. Narayan specializes in Cardiac Electrophysiology, a rapidly evolving field which deals with the treatment and cure of heart rhythm disturbances as well as the use of various cardiac devices that extend and importantly improve the quality of life for his patients.

He believes that each patient has a unique and individual approach to his or her healthcare that lends itself to a natural partnership in the choice of the many medical advances we have available today.

He received his M.D. degree from Harvard Medical School in 1997 from the joint Harvard and MIT division of Health Sciences and Technology (HST). He graduated summa cum laude from Columbia University in 1992 with a bachelor's degree in computer science.

A New Yorker at heart, he completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at the prestigous Columbia-Presbyterian Hospital in Manhattan. He moved to the Silicon Valley area to complete a fellowship in Cardiology and Cardiac Electrophysiology at Stanford University. While at Stanford he also completed an advanced fellowship in Cardiac imaging, which includes Echocardiography and Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging. He is currently ASE board certified in Cardiac Echocardiography.

Prior to joing the Palo Alto Clinic, he also completed advanced training in atrial fibrillation and complex ablation at the St. Luke's Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin where he trained with nationally recognized experts in the field of atrial fibrillation ablation.

He is currently a member of the Heart Rhythm Society. He is board certified in Cardiac Electrophysiology, General Cardiology, and Cardiac Echocardiography.
