    Tips for Giving Medicine

    1. Read and follow all instructions carefully. If you have questions or concerns ask your pharmacist or physician.
    2. Know your child's weight -- Most dosing instructions are based on the weight of the child. The dose will change as they grow.
    3. Don't give medicine to children lying down -- This could cause choking.
    4. Use a proper dosing device -- A household teaspoon should not be used when measuring medication. It is best, when measuring liquid medication for children, to use a medication spoon, syringe or dropper. Most of these items can be purchased at a pharmacy or drugstore.
