Laser Skin Resurfacing
Laser Skin Resurfacing With CO2
Laser skin resurfacing with CO2is a technique for dramatically reducing lines, wrinkles and uneven pigmentation resulting from aging or sun damage.
Procedure:
Laser skin resurfacing is performed with a special hand-held laser that gently removes damaged skin one layer at a time, while simultaneously stimulating the growth of healthy new skin cells. The laser light penetrates the skin to a controlled depth until the desired results are achieved. The procedure not only removes wrinkles, lines and other imperfections, but also tightens and firms the skin, giving it a smoother, more youthful texture.
Treatment Duration:
The procedure time varies according to patient needs. The changes are long lasting.
Anesthesia:
Laser skin resurfacing is performed under sedation -- either local or general anesthesia, depending on the degree of treatment necessary.
After Care:
Recovery time varies from two weeks to several months. Many patients experience redness lasting for several months. During the recovery period, a regimen of ice packs, cleansing and treatment creams will be implemented. Appearance of the skin continues to improve as new collagen is generated.

Fraxel® Laser Treatment
Fraxel® Laser Treatment is a non-ablative skin resurfacing technique that is minimally invasive and requires less recovery time than other treatments.
Multiple treatments (up to four) are required to obtain optimal results. The physician will give you a prophylactic anti-viral prior to the procedure.
Anesthesia:
The physician will use a topical anesthesia -- with or without nerve block, depending on the degree of treatment necessary.
After Care:
The recovery time is approximately one week. Many patients experience redness similar to a sunburn and very light peeling. You can return to work by day four.
