DISparities and Culture: Outcomes in Vitality Research (DISCOVeR)
Welcome to the Disparities and Culture: Outcomes in Vitality Research Program (DISCOVeR) at the Palo Alto Medical Foundation's Research Institute. We are a group of interdisciplinary professionals whose mission is to improve the quality of healthcare among minority populations. Our research seeks to investigate racial/ethnic health disparities in cardiometabolic disease risk, burden, screening, treatment and outcomes in multiethnic populations. We hope to reveal the trends and risk factors for diabetes and cardiovascular disease and whether they vary among racial/ethnic subgroups, and consequently inform internal policies that lead to improvements in patient care.
