    Philosophy of Care

The conditions we manage in Rheumatology, Allergy and Immunology are typically chronic with treatments that help to manage symptoms and prevent tissue damage. Successful therapy requires a partnership between doctor and patient to understand the illness and ramifications of the treatment.

I value the opportunity to get to know people, educate them and advise on the best care of their illness. I want my patients to feel that despite their problem they can live a full life and should not be limited in their goals and dreams. Nothing delights me more than when one of my lupus patients has a baby, an arthritis patient runs a half-marathon or a grandmother with PMR completes 18 holes of golf.

The disciplines of Rheumatology and Allergy are exciting and changing rapidly with new therapies every year. It is a delight and a privilege to partner with patients to find ever-improving solutions to their individual health problems.
