Philosophy of Care
I believe that medical care is a cooperation between the patient and the doctor. In order make this cooperation work, I explain or "teach" the patients as much as I can about their medical conditions and answer any questions they may have. This is so they can make the best decision for their situation. As a family physician, I believe that preventive care is very important. Preventive care is trying to "prevent" certain medical problems from even starting. This may be through counseling or blood/X-ray testing.
Since medicine is constantly changing, I am always learning either from going to lectures or talking to specialists or even from the patients I see everyday. The cycle of learning and teaching creates a worthwhile and enjoyable working environment and hopefully, excellent patient care, which is our ultimate goal.
