Philosophy of Care
I chose the field of family medicine because it enables me to understand the complexities of a patient's life in regards to their health care. My early influences include the many family medicine physicians in my own family. It was always a rewarding experience to see the connections they had developed with their patients.
As a Bay Area native having grown up within an extended Punjabi family, I have always appreciated the diversity of cultures that exist here. During my undergraduate years at Santa Clara University, I decided to pursue Studio Art in addition to Biology in order to achieve a well-balanced education and outlook on life. This combination of interests and experiences served me well throughout my medical training and continues to do so.
During each patient visit, I strive to understand my patient's background in order to establish a solid foundation for providing healthcare. I greatly enjoy taking care of multiple generations within a family with particular interests in women's health and the care of children and adolescents.
