Philosophy of Care
I try to communicate with patients using everyday language, and to be as straightforward as possible. I never withhold the truth from a patient when asked. When appropriate I try to inject some humor in the discussion. My goal is to treat my patients with friendship and respect and to answer questions to the best of my ability. Particularly important to me is dealing appropriately with medical crises and end-of-life issues, which have often been avoided out of fear or lack of information. I want patients to feel that I am their friend as well as their doctor. At the end of the day, I like to feel as thought I helped some people, lifted some spirits and had a little fun while doing my work!
