    Philosophy of Care

    Often people will describe a physical problem they are experiencing and chalk it up to "its just my age." They may believe that nothing can be done to help them recover. I believe that a person's functional ability is not defined by age; rather by their lifestyle and function prior to the time they develop an injury, illness or other problem. My philosophy when working with patients is to help them return to their normal level of activity, or if that is impossible, to reach whatever level suits them.

    My daily focus at work is on prevention, whether shots, tests, advice to quit smoking or cut down on alcohol, to lose weight (or gain it!), exercise more, or other areas of life. Taking a balanced approach to these things in one's life is the key to staying healthy.
