Philosophy of Care
Dr. Meehan specializes in care of the total patient: mind, body and spirit. He has considerable experience in managing behavioral, psychological, and mentaI health issues that can affect our physical health. As an example, he has treated many patients with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and has a good understanding of the relationship between that condition and physical health problems that can be associated with it. In addition to being a board certified Family Physician, he completed a second residency in Preventive Medicine with the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention). He is familiar with the science behind which preventive measures are supported by science.
He believes in educating patients about their conditions and the options that are available, so that patients can participate meaningfully in decisions about their health care.
