Philosophy of Care

I have had the privilege of being a medical oncologist for 32 years. The medicine is extremely interesting and ever changing, but what I love most is I have the privilege of seeing people's strong inner spirit come to the surface every day. Whatever the reality of the situation - curable disease requiring very difficult therapy, a controllable chronic disease requiring ongoing monitoring and therapy, or a near death situation requiring efforts directed at comfort and support for patient and family - we have the privilege of helping people through a most difficult part of their lives.

We always offer hope appropriate to the situation and we support our patients from day of diagnosis throughout their lives, trying to help them to make the most of each day and to enjoy this life in every way possible.

More of our diseases are now chronic diseases with many effective treatments and our goal is to enable our patients to live as long and functional a life as possible.
