Ronald Hay, M.D., graduated with honors from the University of Southern California in 1969. He obtained his M.D. degree from Georgetown University four years later. His Orthopedic residency was completed at the University of California Irvine and his hand fellowship training at Harper Grace Hospital in Detroit, Michigan in 1980.
He joined the Sunnyvale Medical Clinic, later named Camino Medical Group, in 1980 and has been at the clinic since then. His most recent position has been as chairman of the department of Orthopedics and Podiatry.
He is double board certified in Orthopedic Surgery and in Hand Surgery and is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. Other professional memberships include the California Medical Association and the Santa Clara Valley Medical Society. He is a member of the medical staff at El Camino Hospital, Mountain View, and has been chairman of the department of Orthopedic Surgery.
His practice is limited to hand surgery which encompasses not only the full spectrum of hand problems but also those involving the wrist and elbow. He has established the Hand department, called the "Hand Team", at Camino Medical Group which includes Rick Sandor, M.D., Michael Sathy, M.D., Diane Dressman, P.A., and Denise Vetter, certified hand therapist.
He presently resides in Saratoga with his wife, has three daughters and enjoys golf and gardening.
