She precepts medical students and pediatric residents at Stanford in her sports medicine clinic on a weekly basis. Her memberships include being a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American College of Sports Medicine. She is the founder and former chairperson of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP)
