    Specializes in pediatric and adolescent sports medicine (non surgical) in both the Sports and Pediatric Department of PAMF. Dr. Harris' specific professional interests include the prevention and treatment of sports related injuries in children and adolescents, injuries unique to female athletes, developmental issues regarding intensive training of young athletes, overuse injuries, sport specific injury prevention and treatment, and the role of exercise in health and disease prevention. Dr. Harris instructs medical students and pediatric residents at Stanford in her sports medicine clinic on a weekly basis. Her memberships include being a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American College of Sports Medicine. She is the founder and former chairperson of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP)

    Clinical Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Stanford University School of Medicine; American Academy of Pediatrics (for which she served a term as chair of the Section on Sports Medicine) and the American College of Sports Medicine; past medical medical advisor to the California Governor's Council on physical fitness and sports; served as team physician for several Stanford University athletic teams, the College of Notre Dame in Belmont, local high school teams and the USA Women's Basketball team; Volunteer Olympic Physician Program; frequent lecturer on topics in sports medicine, exercise, health promotion and disease

    Personal Interests

    Dr. Harris is a native of the San Francisco Bay Area, and the mother of two young boys. Her personal interests include travel and outdoor recreational activities and sports, including swimming, cycling, running, hiking, back packing, kayaking, skiing, windsurfing, scuba diving and tennis.
