    Philosophy of Care

I grew up on the East Coast in Rochester, New York, and then ventured to the Midwest for college at Washington University in St Louis. After completing medical school at my state school, State University of New York at Stony Brook, I did my pediatric training at Children's Hospital Oakland and I fell in love with the Bay Area. This is where I have decided to plant my roots.

Choosing pediatrics as a specialty was easy for me: I have always enjoyed working with children; watching them grow is a true joy. As a pediatrician, I cherish my role in partnering with parents to ensure their children are achieving their optimal growth and development. I believe that clear and honest communication is the foundation of a good partnership. I strive to make sure that the plan is clear and all questions are answered at the end of every office visit.

I have a special interest in newborn care, pediatric asthma and allergy/eczema and adolescent health.

In my free time, I enjoy exploring the many amazing hiking and biking trails that the Bay Area has to offer. I also love to travel and learn about new cultures. In the last few years I have been lucky enough to visit such amazing destinations as Spain, Morocco, Peru, Poland, Vietnam and Cambodia. I also have a passion for volunteering and helping those in need. In 2010, I had the privilege of participating in a medical mission in Haiti and look forward to making this a yearly tradition. I am also a court appointed special advocate (CASA) for two foster children.
