Philosophy of Care
What I love about primary care internal medicine is the privilege of getting to know my patients over a long time and helping them to live as healthy lives as possible. Preventing illness, maintaining health and quality of life, following evidence-based medicine, and helping educate my patients about their own health are my goals. My interests within internal medicine include preventative care, behavior and lifestyle modification, care of chronic diseases, palliative care and geriatric medicine. I am also very interested in health policy, the art and science of health care delivery systems, and shared decision-making between patient and doctor. I believe these broader topics hold tremendous implications for both the current and future state of health care.
