Medical Examination and Services
The PAMF Executive Health Program has earned its reputation for excellence by building strong relationships with corporations and their executives, and by providing exemplary service, information and medical care. In fact, many executives and their families have chosen to receive their routine health care from the Palo Alto Medical Foundation.
The cornerstone of the Executive Health Program is the time spent with the board-certified physician. During the course of the exam process, strong emphasis is placed on early detection and prevention of illness, and modification of potential harmful risk factors. Because some of the screening tests require dietary fasting, exams are generally scheduled early in the morning. Upon completion of these tests, the executive is offered a continental breakfast.
Supplementing the comprehensive examination are the following services:
- Health Risk Assessment and Medical History
- Comprehensive Screening Services
- Nutrition Counseling
- Physician's Personalized Report
- Health Education Resources and Programs
Health Risk Assessment and Medical History
Prior to the executive's examination, he or she will be asked to complete a confidential online health-risk questionnaire. The responses will provide information on his or her personal health status, risks for developing diseases or other medical conditions, and other background that will help the physician create recommendations for the executive on maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Nutrition Counseling
The Executive Health Program includes counseling by a registered dietitian who will evaluate the executive's nutrition, exercise and stress levels and offer personalized recommendations on healthy lifestyle modifications. This assessment focuses on decreasing health risks such as arteriosclerosis, hypertension, diabetes and osteoporosis; managing gastrointestinal disorders; and weight control. Dietary and exercise recommendations are tailored to the executive's food preferences, activity level and medical history. The dietitian can also provide guidelines for healthy eating when dining out or traveling on business.

Physician's Personalized Report
The physician formulates recommendations for how the executive can optimize his or her health in the face of time and job constraints. This summary letter, including results of all tests performed, may suggest lifestyle changes, disease management refinements, consultation with other specialists or educators, and/or additional testing. Upon request, a copy of the letter will also be mailed to the executive's personal physician.
