Support Your Community’s Critical Needs
As cost pressures continue to grow, the Palo Alto Medical Foundation is committed to protecting quality community health care. The generosity of those who give to PAMF makes a crucial difference in our ability to fulfill our mission to the community we serve through 30 sites in four counties.
We seek support from interested donors in areas that need improvement, to support innovative programs, and acquire the latest technology.
Getting funding for our critical needs will help us transform the delivery of health care and support the organization’s mission to being a community health resource that is a leader in patient care, research and education.
Our current funding priorities, in alphabetical order, are:
Cancer Care Program of Excellence
In recent years, PAMF has developed a multi-year plan for a system-wide Cancer Care Program of Excellence that offers an integrated, state-of-the-art network of services provided at several locations throughout PAMF’s four-county service area. Our goal is to create a cancer program distinguished by comprehensive, coordinated services that optimize the patient’s experience and clinical outcomes. Achieving this level of quality requires the acquisition of new facilities, investment in clinical research, and development of new programs. Center for Health Systems Innovation
Innovation in health care is needed today more than ever. As baby boomers age, our nation must find better ways to ensure that everyone has access to excellent care – regardless of age and whenever and wherever they need it, including at home. PAMF established the David Druker Center for Health Systems Innovation in Palo Alto in June 2010 to respond to these societal imperatives. Community Cancer Care Center in Sunnyvale
Nearly 7,000 new cases of cancer are identified in Santa Clara County each year. In response to this growing need for coordinated oncology services, Palo Alto Medical Foundation is constructing a new 120,000-square-foot Community Cancer Care Center and flagship medical campus in Sunnyvale, at the center of our Santa Clara County service area. Philanthropy will play an essential role in realizing this vision of care. Mental Health Program for Adolescents
Despite our reputation for providing high-quality care, the four-county region served by PAMF lacks an integrated Mental Health Program for Adolescents. With your help, we can build upon a solid foundation of quality care, continue our efforts to overcome the stigma of mental health services and tailor mental health treatments to diverse age, gender, racial, and cultural needs. Learn more about this region-wide integrated mental health program or make a donation to the Mental Health Program for Adolescents.
Palliative Care and Support Services
Palliative Care is a philosophy of care that prevents and relieves suffering, improves quality of life, and helps with personal growth. Currently, most patients experience a lack of coordination in their care that in turn breeds poor communication about care options. To counteract such fragmentation, PAMF has launched an integrated Palliative Care and Support Services program in Santa Cruz to avoid duplication of treatments, foster open discussion between patients and healthcare providers, and place patient comfort as a top priority. Learn more about this program or make a donation to support its expansion in our four-county service area of Palliative Care and Support Services.
PAMF Research Institute
At the PAMF Research Institute, doctors could work with researchers to test ideas for improving patient care that had occurred to them during clinical practice. They could then take this data and apply it in their practice. Learn more about the patient populations and programs that the Research Institute is currently examining or make a donation to support their projects.
