Quality Health Care
Bart C. Lally, M.D.
Bart C. Lally, M.D., is one of the Peninsula’s most experienced physician fundraisers. His tireless commitment to delivering exceptional patient care is closely followed by his passion for philanthropy.
"At PAMF, we have a patient-centered model of health care delivery," Dr. Lally says. "We pride ourselves on our collaborative approach to deliver compassionate, efficient and high quality patient care—and most of it is possible because of generous donors."
Some of Dr. Lally’s earliest fundraising was on behalf of his alma mater, Santa Clara University (SCU). He counted the late Fr. Paul Locatelli, S.J., longtime SCU president, as both friend and patient. "For 30 years, I cared for Paul. I was with him when he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in May 2010, and continued to care for him in his final days," Dr. Lally reminisces. "When he passed away, I lost a patient and a friend."
To honor the revered Jesuit leader, Dr. Lally championed the $12 million philanthropy campaign to name PAMF’s new Center for Cancer and Primary Care in Sunnyvale in memory of Fr. Locatelli.
Dr. Lally brought together the who’s who of Silicon Valley to form a campaign cabinet that helped realize the vision for the new center.
"Philanthropy has immense power to heal, to do good, to make a difference in the lives of many generations over time," Dr. Lally says. "The cancer center will undoubtedly provide the best treatment options close to home for so many patients with cancer in our community. That is the power of philanthropy."
"Donor support enhances our ability to meet the changing health care needs of the community and also sets a remarkable example for others."
