Estrogen therapy effectively controls sudden, heavy uterine bleeding that is not caused by disease, pregnancy complication, cancer, or another serious medical condition (dysfunctional uterine bleeding).Reference 1
Recurrence. Dysfunctional uterine bleeding may return when treatment with estrogen and progestin is stopped.
