Chelating Agents for Lead Poisoning
Why It Is Used
Chelating agents may be used if:
- Blood lead levels are 45 micrograms per deciliter (Reference mcg/dL Opens New Window) or higher (in some cases, 20 mcg/dL or higher).
- Symptoms of Reference lead poisoning Opens New Window are present.
- Reference Lead encephalopathy Opens New Window is present.
