What Affects the Test
Reasons you may not be able to have the test or why the results may not be helpful include:
- Having barium contrast material in the intestines, for example, from a Reference barium enema Opens New Window test.
- Conditions that affect how blood clots, or taking blood thinning medicines such as warfarin.
- Infections such as Reference pancreatitis Opens New Window or Reference diverticulitis Opens New Window.
- Being pregnant.
- Not being able to stay still during the test.
