Pericardial Drainage
Why It Is Done
Pericardial drainage is done to:
- Relieve pressure on the heart.
- Find the cause of pericardial effusion.
- Remove blood or excess fluid after a heart attack or a serious injury, such as a gunshot or stab wound.
