Support Groups at the Palo Alto Center

Support groups are open to patients and the community. There is no charge to attend. If you have questions about any of the below support groups or do not see something listed here, please contact the Education Division at education@pamf.org or call 650-853-2960.

Bariatric (Weight Loss) Surgery Support Group

This is a patient-led group to support people who have had their weight loss surgery (WLS) or people who are considering such surgery. We welcome people who have any form of WLS, by any surgeon, at any facility. Click here for additional information on the WLS Support Group.

Cancer Support Group

A therapist-led group that includes both individuals dealing with a cancer diagnosis, as well as family members and friends. Not all family members are accompanied by the person with the cancer diagnosis. It is a safe place where thoughts, feelings and concerns about cancer are discussed.

When: First and third Tuesday of the month, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Diabetes Support Group

This group is open to insulin and non-insulin dependent patients. Outside speakers are frequent guests.

When: First Wednesday of the month, 7 to 9 p.m.

Drug and Alcohol Support Group

A therapist-led group for people with questions about their own, or a loved one's alcohol/drug use. The group, which is educationally-based and interactive, provides a safe, informal and open forum for candid discussion.

When: Tuesdays, 5:30 to 7 p.m.
