I feel humbled and privileged to have been able to participate in the care of so many patients over the past several years. The experience has allowed me to listen, learn and share in the intimacy of this work. It has taught me that my role is not to treat 'the breast cancer,' 'the colon cancer,' 'the pancreatic cancer,' but to care for the person who happens to have this disease and to then provide care for the total person, emotionally, physically and spiritually with excellent treatment in a comfortable, compassionate and healing environment.
