Ms. Ayer has an interest and expertise in normal pregnancy and childbirth as well as working with women of all ages to promote a healthier lifestyle using traditional and alternative therapies. She is certified by the North American Menopause Society to provide care addressing the concerns of women undergoing the menopausal transition.

Ms. Ayer has two grown sons, both of whom were born with the help of midwives and she has a grandson who was born in 2009. She enjoys physical activities such as hiking, biking, SCUBA diving and skating. She is an artist, photographer and gardener and enjoys creating beautiful things around her home.

Kris Ayer, CNM has been involved with pregnancy and birth since 1980 as a midwife, childbirth educator and perinatal nurse. She received her midwifery education at the University of California San Francisco and has been practicing in Santa Cruz County since 1994. Her recent certification as a menopause provider adds a new special focus to her practice.
