In April, PAMF’s new 250,000-square-foot medical center for Camino Medical Group (CMG) in Mountain View opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

With more than 200 physicians, staff, local elected officials and others in attendance at the opening celebration, CMG CEO Richard Slavin, M.D., dedicated the new medical center to the community, declaring, "May it be a place of care, comfort and healing for decades to come."

The three-story medical center, which is located on East El Camino Real at the intersection of Highway 85 in Mountain View, consolidates nine of CMG’s 15 clinic locations. The facility provides a comprehensive range of primary and specialty physician services, an outpatient Surgicenter, an urgent care center, diagnostic radiology and laboratory departments, a pharmacy, and conference rooms for health education and community workshops. The building is also equipped with electronic patient health records and advanced medical technology, including diagnostic and treatment equipment and high-speed medical information systems.

Dr. Slavin said the medical center "symbolizes the ways in which Camino Medical Group is rapidly moving forward in integrated, personalized care using cutting-edge information technology and medical diagnostics."

The contemporary facility is designed to make it easy for patients to get around. Visitors enter the main (second) level of the building from the parking structure, so they only have to move up or down a maximum of one floor to reach any destination. The departments most commonly visited by patients and used by individuals with impaired mobility are located closest to the entrance. In addition, the departments that work together closely and that patients use concurrently – such as the Oncology Department, and infusion and radiology services – are located near each other for ease of use.
