April 2008

More than 100,000 PAMF patients are now enrolled in PAMFOnline – almost half of the adult primary care patients in PAMF’s Palo Alto region who have seen a PAMF physician within the last 24 months. And as more patients discover the many benefits of the e-health service, PAMF is adding new features to make it even easier and more convenient for patients to manage their health care.

PAMFOnline has redesigned its home page, to make the site even simpler to navigate. The tools that patients use most frequently were moved to more prominent locations to make it easier and faster for patients to get the information they need.

The site now also offers an online bill payment tool that allows users to check their PAMF account statements and pay their bills electronically. This will allow patients to more completely manage all portions of their health care, said Carla Bedford, manager of PAMF’s Patient Accounting Department, whose team helped make the online bill payment feature possible.

“Many patients requested that they be able to view their statements and pay their bills electronically using PAMFOnline, and we’re thrilled to offer this feature,” said PAMFOnline Manager Barbara Love.

PAMFOnline is offered to all PAMF patients at no cost and allows users to log on to a secure Web site 24 hours a day from anywhere in the world. Patients can use PAMFOnline to securely and conveniently access key portions of their electronic health records, view and graph test results, request appointments and prescription renewals, receive customized health information, and for a nominal fee, communicate electronically with their physicians.
