April 2009: Update on some of the progress PAMF has made as an environmentally friendly organization

  • We have taken measures to reduce our overall carbon footprint of the Fremont Center by participation in the "Climate Smart" program. As a result, the Fremont Center is now "climate neutral" and PAMF eliminated 2,105,038 lbs. of greenhouse gasses per year being emitted to the atmosphere.

  • We retrofitted the lights in the underground garage at the Palo Alto Center, which removed another 133,700 lbs. of greenhouse gasses from the atmosphere.

  • We are in the process of completing several smaller energy-saving projects that will add up to another 75,504 lbs. of greenhouse gasses that won’t be emitted to the atmosphere. Overall, these efforts result in a total of 2,238,738 lbs. of greenhouse gasses that will not be emitted to atmosphere in 2009 and beyond.

  • We are evaluating the possibility of installing of a wind generator that will provide nearly all the power for lighting the above ground garage at the Palo Alto Center. This project is currently under review by the City of Palo Alto.
